Festival Season 101

Let’s just put this out there:
GO BIG OR GO HOME this year! This is the year of great festivals and if you’re not planning on going to one (or eight) of them, then you should definitely change your mind! Music is life, dude. And it’s so much better live!

Festivals are so much fun, and a chance to express your crazy side! You see everyone at coachella with the crazy outfits/hair/and makeup and wonder, how can I look like that at a festival?! Well, let me help you with some inspiration!

HAIR //

Ask your stylist (or come to me at my salon) and ask for Redken City Beats color to add some pop to your every day look! They have all kinds of beautiful colors that don’t last too terribly long so that you can go back to work the next week looking like your professional self.

MAKEUP //

Glitter, glitter, GLITTER. It’s everywhere!! My absolute fav right now is glitter from Glitter Injections!

OUTFITS //

Check out Forever 21, Tillies and Pacsun for some festival vibe clothes. Or, get them online for cheap like me! I order a lot off of the Wish app and the Wanelo app. They take a little longer to ship so order in plenty of time! Also, if you want it quicker, try Amazon Prime! It’s my jam!

ACCESSORIES //

Amazon, amazon, amazon…
Get your nails done right beforehand so you don’t have to worry about them.
Eyelash extensions are the bomb because you don’t have to worry about wearing a ton of makeup at the festival.
Bathing suits for clothes is OKAY. It’s too damn hot to dress up in bellbottoms and bell sleeve tops.
Practice your braids with friends!

I can’t wait to share my own festival looks with you all! Comment below with any questions!

Black on Black on Blonde

How did distressing your clothes go? Good, bad or otherwise? Hey, you never know until you try. Here I’m rocking one of my dad’s old AC/DC shirts that I cropped and chopped holes in. I made this look a little grungy because that’s how I felt that day. I also would wear it with jeans and a cardigan or with some over the knee boots!

Remember, if you ever can’t decide what to wear, ALL BLACK ALWAYS WORKS!

I’m also glad that this park let me crash and snap some photos, although I had to dodge all of the people jogging and sprinting by…. but didn’t these turn out amazing? Tyrone is my favorite photographer in Nashville! He is amazing, so if you have any photo needs, he’s your guy! I’ve posted his link above.

Luckily I’ve gotten a couple nice days in Nashville lately that I could spend outside brunching, day drinking or just hanging out. But apparently it’s supposed to snow this weekend? Our weather can NEVER make up it’s mind… I should make a post about what to do while it’s cold, but honestly I don’t like getting out in it and I’d rather cuddle and hang with my dog.
So we’ll all just have to hold on and keep anticipating Spring to come along and the warm weather stay for good! I’ve got a lot coming up that I can’t wait to share!
Ps // Happy International Women’s Day! Take time to think about a woman that inspires you and how you inspire yourself!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

4 Ways to Fishnet // Pt. 2 & 3

Alright, alright, alrighhhttt. It’s time for Pt. 2 of your 4 ways to Fishnet! and the selected outfit for this week will be….. Band T’s and Demin jackets!! Hallelujah, I can walk around in my band T’s and it finally look fashionable instead of too-casual! Obviously, I’ve decided to spice it up with my fishnets and thigh-highs! You don’t have to wear thigh-highs with the fishnets, but when you do, it only gives your audience a little taste of the fishnets, rather than the whole treat… As you’ll see, thigh-high boots will win over on most of these posts, except for one! (which you’ll see…stay tuned!)

Rock any band T you want. It’s YOUR choice! Most stores are starting to carry band T’s, like Forever 21, H&M, Urban, etc… just make sure to get a t-shirt of a band that you are ACTUALLY familiar with. Or get one and definitely familiarize yourself with them. Nothing looks more stupid than a 14 year old girl wearing a Nirvana shirt that they’ve probably never even heard of…. just don’t be that person. Or, if you’re like me, purchase a shirt from a concert of a band that you see from now on. That will keep you stocked on bands that you actually enjoy listening to.

Now let’s move on to denim. I LOVE DENIM. Jackets, boyfriend jeans, everything! I’ve become borderline obsessed. And, denim jackets are great for colder months because they actually block out more wind. You’re welcome. But anyway, I’m stoked about them. Especially the over-sized or distressed ones. I got this beaut from Forever 21, but you could honestly probably get lucky at Goodwill finding one… it’s comfortable and you can almost wear one with any outfit. Dressed up or dressed down. Get creative with it!

Another way to switch up this look is wearing my your fav band T, with denim distressed jeans, and wearing the fishnets to peek through underneath!! Say hello to my beautiful model and younger sis, Madelyn, who’s rocking this look paired with some platform booties. If it’s cold, add a leather jacket and a beanie. Just don’t go denim on denim unless you really know what you’re doing…

Rock dat fishnet, gurrrrl.

Beauty Secrets Revealed!

All Photos // Power & Influence Photography

So I’m not quite sure why I haven’t done this yet, but I figured that I would update everyone on some amazing products that I’ve been using that have been saving my life! I don’t spend a crap ton of money to get the best of the best quality stuff, but I do use things that WORK. If I could walk around every day without any makeup or without doing anything to my hair, I would. But, I work in the beauty industry, so that can’t really happen. So, I’m going to share with you my top BEAUTY SECRETS! Cheap, easy and hella good products:

1 // Alright, everyone likes Kylie Jenner lips, but if you’re like me, you can’t afford to pay for injections and don’t want to accidentally end up looking like a duck… so I purchased this little tool that enhances my lips just enough without looking like I tried too hard. It’s called Fullips. A little suction cup that you use for about 30 seconds, lip line, lipstick and go. I’m completely in love with it!
To go with the lips, I’ll share some of my favorite lipsticks/liners:
NYX // Euro Trash Matte Lipstick

Kat Von D // Bow N Arrow

NYX // lingerie LIPLI 12 Exotic

Youngblood lip liners + chapstick.

2 // One thing that I have started to splurge on is lash extensions. My lashes are already long-ish, but they grow straight out of my head and I have to curl them and get them out of my eyeballs all day. With extensions, I never have to curl them at all or even wear mascara. it’s amazing and so convenient! I get them done at LW Boutique Salon.

3 // As for more makeup, this one has been huge for me, my concealer! I used to have terrible acne and the scars left from it has haunted me for years. It completely covers and blemishes I have but still lets me see my freckles. it’s perfect! It’s called Hard Candy – Glamoflauge. It’s also only found at Walmart and for only $6.00!

4 // For my brows, I use Youngblood’s Brow Artist pencil. It goes on lightly so that you can build on it. Get them brows on fleek, ladies!

5 // My favorite favorite bronzer is the Anastasia bronzer pressed powder pallet. It has options for highlighters and bronzers and is great on my skin! Totally head over heels about it.

6 // For nails, I shellac my own nails with CND Shellac polish and a curing machine, so I don’t typically get them done because I can do them myself. Holla!

7 // Now, for hair, I’m a blonde fanatic, so I have to use the best shampoo and conditioner on my hair. I work at a Redken and Pureology salon, and my favorite one to use is Pureology’s Strength Cure. It keeps my hair so soft, shiny and insanely healthy. I also use Redken’s Anti-Snap split end treatment for my raggedy ends that I never cut…

8 // Now, I’ve mentioned this one before, but my perfume…. is definitely the biggest compliment I get. I use Y’ves Saint Laurent Black Opium. It’s dark, tempting and I always get compliments from men on this! They lika da Black Opium.

9 // My tattoos are honestly a big part of me (obviously they are permanent) but they also all have such significant meaning to me. They are a part of what makes me feel beautiful in my own way. I get them done at Safe House Tattoo Studio by Zane Pendergast. He is AMAZING.

10 // Soaps. I love soaps. I use Philosophy Soaps from Ulta. They have so many yummy scents that I buy multiple and switch them up! It says you can use them for shampoo and a bubble bath, but I wouldn’t recommend using them for shampoo… just enjoy your bubble bath.

Alrighty, that’s all my secrets for now until I find new gems. Happy Wednesday!

What Makes You Feel Sexy?

Hey paisleygang!

We’re about to get real here and talk about what makes you feel SEXY. Yeah, girl, sexy. In fashion sense, that is. Not so much lingerie and what not, which, hell, is always sexy. But, every girl has that one outfit that they feel hot in. Or, it may be multiple, which in that case, even better!

Now, I don’t have any curves nor was I blessed in the chest area, but there are certain articles of clothing or accessories lately that make me feel better in them rather than others. Here’s a few to give you a good idea:

strapless or off-the-shoulder tops // like I’ll always say, ain’t nothing wrong with showing a little skin! I’ve found out over the past year or so that men love to see a little collar bone, clavicle action. It’s not necessarily showing any cleavage, but an elegant part of a woman’s body. Trust me, you’ll be trying to have a convo with them, but their eyes will switch from your eyes to your collar bone multiple times. It gives just a little bit of a tease, but it’s better than your tatas hanging out for all to see… keep it classy, people.

high-waisted pants or shorts // at this point, I don’t think I will ever go back to low-rise pants. It’s funny that people used to make fun of the mom jeans, but who’s laughing now? Their butts looked hella good! And now, so can yours. I tossed all my low-rise a long time ago and solely wear high-waisted everything. 1. great butt, 2. hides food baby. You’re welcome.

booties // not going to lie, I’m also no longer a fan of tall boots. Booties are the thing now! Tall boots hide your legs, booties give you legs for days. Sandals also kind of make me cringe because I hate feet and especially my own…

panama hats // it’s time. It’s time to get over yourself and buy one of these. So many girls think that they don’t look cute in them or can’t pull them off. YES YOU CAN. They are so damn cute on girls (and some guys) and definitely catch some eyes when you walk by. Just don’t wear them on a really windy day. No bueno.

(featured in previous posts) sundresses // get you a little breezy, comfy, colorful sundress and you’ll be turning heads left and right. Everyone loves a woman in a sundress. Just be careful when a big gust of wind blows by on this one too or you’ll be pulling a Marilyn… and it probably won’t be as sexy as her experience.

bummy clothes around the house // sweatpants, hair tied, chillin’ with no makeup on. That’s when you’re the prettiest, I hope that you don’t take it wrong… enough said.

Now, I’ll share with you my number one secret // … get ready… My perfume! I wear Yves Saint Laurent’s Black Opium. It’s a combo of coffee bean, vanilla and white flowers. I’ve literally never had so many compliments from MEN on this perfume. It blew my mind. Sprits on that collar bone and wrist and werk, girl, werk.

In the words of JT, get your sexy on.

Paisleys on Paisley

As you all saw in my last post, I’m pretty into dresses lately. I’m not a huge girly-girl, but I love to rock some beautiful dresses! Especially when this one has my own print! *hints Paisleys on Paisley* I’m typically not a big red fan or any vibrant colors for that matter, but I’ve been trying to get out of the box a little lately. My bright yellow sundress from last week and this red beauty are definitely Summer worthy!

And speaking of Summer… I think it’s going by way too fast. I need more pool days, hiking trips, canoeing adventures, etc. But it just seems like there isn’t enough time in the day! Especially with my crazy schedule. July 4th has already came and went and now the Wilson County Fair and Live on the Green will be here before we know it! (can’t wait to make posts on those!) The only negative thing about this Summer has been that it’s been way too hot to do any photoshoots… I may look all happy and flowing and free, but in actuality, I was sweating like freaking crazy. It was worth it to get shots of this gorgeous dress, though! I may even rock it to a wedding this Saturday. Now, all I need is a cute date to go with…

What did you all do for the 4th of July this year? Got any big weekend plans, yourself? Any new fashion styles/advice you’d like to see on the blog? Let me know!

Happy Wednesday, folks!

I can’t even express how freakin’ stoked I am for my upcoming festivals! My little dancing soul will soon be on the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama, for the Hangout Music Festival. Amazing artists, some much needed sunshine and fun with the best group of friends. I wish I was there right now! Then, a couple short weeks after that, I’ll be living it up on the farm at Bonnaroo! If you’re attending either of these festivals, or others, make sure you check out my last post about Festival 101 and your survival guide. You’ll need it!

Here’s one of my favorite outfits that I’ll be rocking this year! I got this bomb ass top + bottom combo from Jac Vanek. She has the ultimate festival and every day style! Her clothes speak to me…literally. Some of her graphic tees and tanks actually describe my life perfectly. As soon as I saw this on her Instagram, I knew I had to have it. It’s super comfy, light and breezy enough to wear when it’s hot out.

Stay tuned for more Summer outfit inspo to come!
