What’s Super Cool for Spring

We are finally entering into SPRING! Thank the lort.

I’ve been creepin’ on Instagram and Pinterest lately to find out what’s IN for Spring this year! I’m so excited for Spring fashion and all Summer adventures to come. Here’s the hot stuff this month:

HAIR //
Texture, texture, texture! You almost want that “I just rolled out of bed” look. (which luckily I do everyday) Also, if you’ve got natural wave or curls, rock them!!

Natural. Don’t cake it, don’t bake it. Don’t over due it or use too much self tanner, trust me. Dudes don’t like it. If you feel like you need a lot of eye makeup, invest in lash extensions! They make me feel like I never need that much makeup AT ALL. It’s amazing! Add a bold, warm- tone lip for Spring:

Everything SHEER! A woman does not have to be modest in order to be respected. Show off a little bit! But don’t get too far out of your comfort zone to where you feel hella awkward. It’s not for everyone! Also, everyone’s rocking heavy jewelry, lots of jewelry, floral and bold colors!

HATS //
You usually throw on a ballcap to cover your dirty hair on laundry/cleaning day, but now it’s fashionable! I still kind of wear it on my dirtier hair days, but I now love hats when I never used to wear them! You can get cheap ones on Amazon or grab some at PacSun, H&M or Forever 21. Going out to brunch with your girls? Hat it. Casual drinks with a friend? Hat it. Shopping at the mall? Hat it.

Shoe styles these days are either kept very casual or fancy smancy. I’m loving that tshirts, hats and tennis shoes are an everyday style now. Also, I love dressing up kinda fancy for no reason!

SO. freaking. cute! Didn’t quite get your Summer bikini body ready in time? Get a cute one piece and don’t sweat it!

DAY DRINKING! Include brunch if you wish or skip it and get to sippin’! It’s easier to go out and drink and hang with some friends for a couple hours during the daytime than being up for all hours of the night and being hungover the whole next day. Especially now that the weather is getting nicer! Find a place nearby with an open patio and great drinks! Even maybe some games.

(Obviously, I’m obsessed with @laurajadestone and want to be her)
So here’s my lil scoop on what’s hot for this Spring! If you have any questions, please comment below! Happy Wednesday!

Live on the Green 2016

Hey everyone! So, we’ve already had 2 Live on the Green’s pass so far, which were both amazing! To start it all of, White Denim, Allen Stone and Andra Day preformed and all played awesome sets. This past week, we had JR JR, Passenger and Jenny Lewis serenade us. If you’re a Nashville native and haven’t checked out Live on the Green yet, you’ve got a couple more chances coming up! This Thursday, the 25th, The Record Company, Kurt Vile & The Violators and Dawes will be performing. Not to mention that these concerts are all FREE!

I’ve been attending these festivals for years now, and I’ve learned some great tips on how to have the best LOTG experience:

Get there EARLY // It’s located on the lawn at public square park, just at the end of 2nd Ave. The shows don’t typically start until 6:30, but traffic around nashville at that time is a nasty b!tch. If you get there early enough (let’s say by 5 or 5:30…) try and park in the Gay Street Parking garage. It’s always the cheapest place to park and it’s literally right underneath the park. that way, all you have to do is take an elevator up and you’re there!

What to bring // fold out lawn chairs are a must. most people don’t want to carry them, but if you park in the garage underneath, then it’s a really easy trip to take them up there. Also, you can claim a spot if you want to migrate to check out the vendors, merch or grab some food or drinks. Other things you might want to grab before you leave the house: money, ID, a blanket, an umbrella just incase and your dog.

What to eat & drink // there are tons of food trucks!! You are a crazy person if you can’t find at least one food truck that sounds appetizing to you. Pizza, burgers, grilled cheeses, Noodle bowls, sushi burritos, you name it! If you check out the website you can see what will be there so you can plan ahead. There’s also beer and wine tents located all around, and a Blue Chair Bay Rum tent where you can get some fancy cocktails. Then, finish off with some Jeni’s ice cream after the show!

What to do // Enjoy the music! sit back, relax, have a drink or four, eat some food, pet people’s dogs and just hang out!

Check out the lineup here and I’ll see you on Thursday!

Cold Shoulder

This is actually an ironic title for a post, because it’s still hot as hell out in Nashville, but I’m rocking a cold shoulder shirt. Technically, it’s a complete open-shoulder shirt, but close enough. Gotta let some breeze flow somewhere. It has been crazy uncomfortable outside lately, but I still managed to enjoy my weekend! Last Friday night, I went to grab dinner and drinks at Clyde’s on Church. I’m not going to lie, I was feeling very confident that day and decided to challenge my friends at ping pong, and definitely got my ass handed to me. At that and shuffleboard afterward… Can’t get too cocky before a game like that, but maybe I’ll get them next time!

On Saturday, I hosted my first bridal shower for my older sister, which I found out that I don’t like hosting parties… It was very overwhelming, but actually turned out amazing! (hint: the giant balloon letters are a hit!) Then, I went to the Ascend Amitheatre downtown to see Gary Clark Jr. shred the guitar like a boss and serenade me with his incredible, bluesy voice. It was an incredible show. Then, I spent Sunday by the pool soaking up some rays. I must say, it was a pretty swell weekend!

Earlier in the week, I spent some time wandering around 12 South with these beautiful blondes. We found this “Pretty as a Picture” phrase in a window and just had to take pictures next to it, of course. If you look close enough in the window, you can see the “I Belive in Nashville” mural; another great photo-op. Usually I like rocking this off-the-shoulder shirt with pants, but I had no choice but to wear shorts with how high the temp was. We spent a little time taking pictures, but then had to run inside Bartaco for some AC and hella good tacos!

Make sure to hit up both of these places soon, and you’ll have one heck of a weekend! Clyde’s has so many fun games and food/drinks with an awesome atmosphere. If you’re trying to get out, meet some new people or entertain some friends, that’s the place to go right now! Bartaco is one of my favorite taco places with incredible, made from scratch margaritas. (try the fried plantains and the duck taco! you won’t regret it) Also, there’s so many great shows coming up at the Acsend Ampitheatre! In the next couple weeks, I’ll be seeing Ray LaMontagne and Blink 182 there, and I’m freaking stoked.

What’s in store for my weekend? We’ll never know until it gets here!

Happy Wednesday!
