Want to know how a typical day in my life goes?
My days vary and can be random, but I’m usually on a routine. I would consider myself a pretty busy person. I work a full time job as a hairstylist and I generally keep my free time fairly productive. Last week I gave you all a little insight on me and my life, but I figured I’d give you a more in depth view of a day in my life:
I’m typically a night owl and don’t catch up on sleep often, so getting up in the morning is a struggle… I immediately make my coffee (Starbucks Cafe Verona Dark Roast is my go-to.) and sip on it for about 20 minutes before I actually wake up. I can’t really cook to save my life, but I’ve actually been making myself breakfast every morning as a start; a little breakfast sammie with a toasted whole grain english muffin, eggs, cheese and avocado. It’s not really that fancy, but it makes me feel fancy.
When it comes to getting ready and primped for the day, I on average only spend about 30 minutes to do so. There’s nothing I love more than a day that I don’t have to fix up and rock my messy bedhead and no makeup, but I work in the beauty industry, so that can’t really happen often. I have a crazy lioness mane that I only wash maybe once a week, and I luckily can just roll out of bed and not have to style my hair most of the time because it stays well. So I focus more on makeup. I invested in a brand new makeup kit from Morphe that I love playing around with! Throw on some winged eyeliner and red lips and no one will notice your bedhead. At least that’s my motto.
I work a lot of evenings at the salon, so during those days, I get a little bit of free time to get some things done beforehand. Those typically consist of working on my blog or writing some in my 52 List Project Journal for a little inspiration. I’m not going to lie, though, some days I just head to the mall for a little retail therapy instead. My fav shop spots are Forever 21, H&M, Urban Outfitters, Free People and any local thrift shop.
Next, I head to work. I always have my FitTea in hand or an extra coffee from High Brow Brew. I spend hours of doing what I love; coloring, cutting and making my clients feel beautiful and like their best selves. (or handsome, for my guys…)
After work is a whole different story. There’s endless possibilities to what I can do. I try to be good and hit up the gym at least 3 times a week, but on occasion, I’ll skip and go grab a drink with a girlfriend from the salon. If neither of those happen, I’ll probably come home, decompress in a relaxing lavender bath, then hit the sheet. I don’t think I love anything more than sleep. Wait, food…I love food more.
And that’s that! Nothing too crazy, but that’s just a normal day in my wonderful life! What are your hobbies or things you like to do during the day? Any daily routines you stick to? Comment below and have a happy hump day!
