I must admit, I am a coffee addict. I’m not really ashamed of it, either, because it tastes great and it keeps me alive and awake on a daily basis. Typically, you’ll find me at home, cuddled up on my couch with my Starbucks dark roast, but I love to stop by a different coffee shop every once in a while to add some variety to my life. One of my absolute favorites is Barista Parlor. Whether it’s the one in the Gulch or East Nashville, I love them both. The vibe is super chill, yet productive. You see many people working on their laptops, reading or just conversing with each other. They play awesome music with a huge selection of vinyls to chose from, and when the weather is nice, they open up their garage doors for some fresh air. If you haven’t checked it out yet, definitely add it to your list.
I figured that the best outfit that I could wear to a coffee shop is something comfortable. The thing with my style is; I’m always overdressed. Better to overdressed than underdressed, right? So, my casual and comfy outfits are still relatively cute and acceptable to be seen in public. Sweatpants, hair tied, chilling with no makeup on gets saved for the days spent at home. I also couldn’t leave my house without wearing my, “But first, coffee” shirt from Forever 21. I mean, it just fits the part. I paired it with my favorite boyfriend-style ripped jeans (that are vintage, sorry…) and my Grandfather’s old hat. (here’s one that’s similar…) I was super comfortable and got to relax on a nice evening with an iced coffee in hand.
So, my advice to you is: keep it comfy, but keep it cute. I would enjoy getting to wear pajamas out in public, but I would imagine that no one would be inspired by my fashion choice, nor would they want to come get their hair done by me if I looked homeless that day. But, regardless of your profession, just keep that in mind.
How do you make your comfortable outfits cute? What are some of your favorite essentials? Let me know!
